These Cherry Limeade Jello Shots are so much fun! It goes a bit beyond our basic jello shots recipe since we added limeade into our jello shot mix!

Jello shot recipes are some of our favorite to make. They are so fun for parties and the perfect way to get your guests talking about your different jello creations. These Cherry Limeade jello shots are perfect for Summer, but the colors also make them perfect for your next Christmas party- the red and greens make this a fun festive treat, as well.

Cherry Limeade Jello Shots Ingredients:

• 1 (6 oz.) box of cherry jello
• 2 cups boiling water
• ½ cup water
• ½ cup Simply Limeade
• 1 cup Svedka Cherry Limeade Vodka
• Fresh limes for garnish
• Maraschino cherries for garnish

For the plastic cups, we used 2 ounce plastic containers, also called condiment cups. You can find them at Walmart or on Amazon!

Directions:

Step 1: Add 16 2 oz. jello shot cups to a shallow baking pan.

Step 2: Boil 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan.

Step 3: Remove from the heat and whisk in the box of jello mix to the hot water.

Step 4: Add 1 cup cold water, ½ cup Simply limeade, and ½ cup vodka. Stir to combine.

Step 5: Pour the jello mixture evenly into the cups.

Step 6: Move the jello shots to the refrigerator to chill for 4 hours or more. For easy transporting, place all of the shots onto a cookie sheet.

Step 7: Before serving, top with fresh lime and a maraschino cherry.

Tips & FAQs

• Stick to the alcohol ratio we used in this recipe, if you use more it is likely that your jello shots will not set properly. 
• You can swap the vodka in this recipe to regular vodka, if needed, and still get a fun cherry limeade flavor.
• Swap the lime vodka for lemon vodka (Deep Eddy is a great choice) for cherry lemonade jello shots with delicious cherry and lemon flavors!
• Swap the cherry jello and cherry limeade vodka for strawberry jello (or another flavor of red jello) and regular or strawberry or lime vodka for a fun and delicious strawberry limeade shot.
• Some other fun toppings would be whipped cream, fresh lime zest, red or lime green sprinkles, or anything else you like that is red or green.

How much alcohol is in each jello shot?

We divided 1 cup of vodka among 16 shots, so each shot has approx. 1/2 an ounce of vodka. These won’t get you tipsy, per say, but they are still so much fun to serve.

Do jello shots go bad if not refrigerated?

I don’t necessarily think they go bad, but they can melt, so keep them refrigerated until ready to serve, and serve within 24 hours for best results.

Do you freeze jello shots or refrigerate them?

Definitely refrigerate jello shots. Most of our recipes include jello mix and it sets up perfectly in the refrigerator, no need to freeze.

Can I make these with Sonic Cherry Limeade gelatin?

Yes! You can axe the limeade and use sonic cherry limeade gelatin instead, but the ratios are a bit different. You’ll use one package of the gelatin, 1 cup boiling water, 1 cup vodka, and 1 cup cold water.
