Watermelon Martini

Here’s why we love these fresh Watermelon Martinis-

  • A watermelon vodka martini is the ultimate Summer drink.
  • We love the fresh flavor of the watermelon used for this recipe.
  • Cocktails made with fresh watermelon can be a bit hydrating at the same time, which might help the unpleasant effects of the alcohol. Always remember to drink responsibly.

If you are looking for a great watermelon cocktail, this one is just for you.

Substitutions & Tips:

  • Take this drink up a notch by serving in a chilled martini glass.
  • You can use any orange liqueur- Grand Marnier is also delicious. It is a little more expensive but really adds to the smoothness in your cocktails.
  • No need to buy a huge watermelon for these, you can make several drinks with a smaller personal-sized watermelon. If you do have a big watermelon, you can make a big batch of these by combining 4 cups watermelon, 1 cup vodka, 1/2 cup triple sec, 1/2 cup lime juice, and 1/4 cup simple syrup.
  • We used regular vodka in this recipe, but a citrus vodka would be delicious. I wouldn’t use a watermelon vodka, as that might take away from the fresh watermelon flavors.
  • You could blend this up with ice, of even freeze your watermelon for a frozen martini.
  • If you are using a super sweet watermelon, you can opt to skip the simple syrup.
  • Another cute garnish would be to use a melon baller and make small watermelon balls for garnish

FAQs

What alcohol goes best with watermelon?

With fresh watermelon, I would always use an unflavored vodka or white rum so that you really get to enjoy the fresh watermelon flavor in the drink.

What is drunken watermelon?

Drunken watermelon is made by injecting vodka into a whole watermelon and letting the fruit absorb the alcohol for a fun boozy treat. Though, it is debatable if this actually works.
