Grinch Jello Shots with Vodka

I’m excited to share these fun Grinch themed Jello Shots! This is a super simple jello shot recipe that is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season with your favorite Christmas character. Whether it’s a Grinch movie night or a Grinch themed party, this Grinch jello shot recipe is just what you need! We made these Grinch Jello Shots with vodka, and we used green apple jello because we prefer the taste, and it’s a little sour, just like the Grinch!

Why we love this recipe- 

• It is the perfect recipe for Christmas jello shots. They’re a great addition to any Christmas party- think Grinch themed parties, ugly sweater parties, and more!
• These are the CUTEST Christmas jello shots we’ve made. The hearts are so fun and perfect for a Grinch shot!
• Lime jello is not our favorite flavor, so I love the green apple jello that we used for this recipe.

Grinch Jello Shot Ingredients:

Green Apple Gelatin– we used the sonic brand green apple gelatin, make sure the gelatin you pick is 3.94 ounces to work for this recipe.

Water– for boiling, and some cold water as well to set the jello.

Vodka– we used regular vodka, but feel free to get creative with different flavored vodkas.

Whipped cream– for topping, of course! This is optional, but it adds a lot to these fun shots.

Heart sprinkles– they wouldn’t be Grinch jello shots without a jumbo heart sprinkle!

(12) 2 ounce plastic cups– sometimes called condiment cups, you’ll need little 2 ounce plastic cups (with lids perferrably). We don’t recommend using glass shot glasses.

How to make Grinch Jello Shots with Vodka:

Step 1: Place your plastic cups onto a shallow baking sheet or cookie sheet for easy transportation to the refrigerator.

Step 2: In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

Step 3: Remove from the heat and whisk in green apple gelatin.

Step 4: Add ⅓ cup cold water and ⅔ cup vodka. Stir.

Step 5: Pour the jello mixture evenly between the 2 ounce cups.

Step 6: Move to the refrigerator to chill for at least 4 hours.

Step 7: Before serving, top with whipped cream and a heart sprinkle.

Tips & Tricks

• If you can’t find the jumbo heart sprinkles, red candy hearts will work as well.
• You can use any flavor of vodka- vanilla vodka, green apple vodka, whipped cream vodka, etc… or another clear liquor, such as coconut rum or white rum.
• You can use the Jolly Rancher gelatin for the green apple flavor, but those packages are 3 ounces, so you’d use one box, plus about 1 ounce from a 2nd box.
• You can use larger plastic shot glasses, but you’ll get fewer shots total from the recipe. You can easily double or triple this recipe, however.
