Cranberry Apple Mimosa
If you are looking for a last minute cocktail for your Thanksgiving table, I’ve got you covered. While these would be equally delicious for Christmas, I feel like the apples make it the perfect Thanksgiving drink. The sweetness of the apples and the tart cranberry juice make the perfect combination with bubbly champagne for a mimosa your guests will remember. We’re also adding just a sprinkle of cinnamon in there for some holiday spice for this Cranberry Apple Mimosa.
I’ve garnished these with a cinnamon stick, too, for a festive look. I know that this isn’t technically the proper glass for a mimosa, but I just love using these stemless wine glasses, there is so much room in them for extras.
Cranberry apple mimosas are a festive, yet healthy alternative to the original champagne and orange juice mimosa.
This drink is a grown-up twist on the classic mimosa that can be served at any time of year, whether you’re hosting brunch or just want to drink something other than coffee. The cranberry provides an antioxidant boost while the apple juice adds a little sweetness to balance out the tartness of the cranberries. We wait impatiently every year for Ocean Spray cranberries to be released, we use them so much in the Fall and Winter.
Not only do they make for some delicious recipes and drink garnishes, but they have health benefits, too, along with some cranberry juices. Cranberries are beneficial to your health because they contain antioxidants that neutralize free radicals. These antioxidants also provide the body with anti-inflammatory properties, help prevent cell damage, and promote heart health.
Cranberry Apple Mimosa
To make this drink, you’ll need-
- ½ cup cranberry juice
- ¼ cup champagne (optional, if omitted, use sparkling cider and double the amount to ½ cup)
- ¼ cup apple cider
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
- 2 apple slices
- Handful of cranberries
- Cinnamon sticks for garnish
Also, if you want to make this in a big pitcher, simply use 2 1/2 cups cranberry juice, 1 1/2 cups champagne, and 1 1/2 cups of apple cider. Then, add 2 tsp cinnamon, 2 whole apples, sliced, and even more cranberries and cinnamon sticks for garnish. Combine all of your ingredients, and chill overnight in the refrigerator.
To make just one drink, add apple slices and fresh cranberries to your glass, then add a few sprinkles of cinnamon. Pour in cranberry juice, apple cider, then champagne. Garnish with a cinnamon stick & enjoy.
We just love mimosas. A mimosa is typically a drink made of champagne and orange juice, or any other citrus-y type juice. Champagne has been used as a celebratory drink for many centuries, but we believe in celebrating ordinary days, too. Champagne has an alcohol content between 12-14% which is much higher than other types of wine like white wine and rose wine. Just a few reasons why we love mimosas, any time of day.
This mimosa is the perfect blend of all those delicious, traditional Fall flavors. Apples, cranberries, and cinnamon. I just love using fresh cranberries in my cocktails, too. They make for such a nice presentation. If you freeze the cranberries beforehand, they can also keep your drink cool, without the need for ice.
