Tips & Tricks

  • Place the shots onto a baking sheet for easy moving to the refrigerator.
  • Make these into Strawberry Lime Margarita Jello shots by swapping 1/2 cup of the cold water with 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice.
  • You can also add Triple Sec! Do 3/4 cup tequila and 1/4 cup triple sec in the jello mixture. I always encourage customizing these to your own personal tastes. Just be careful on the alcohol amount. While you might want strong jello shots, if you add too much tequila or other alcohol, they may not set up properly.
  • You can do a coarse sugar rim instead of a salt rim, if you prefer.
  • Take these up a notch by grating some lime zest over top of each cup.
  • You can make these with classic margarita flavor with our Lime Margarita Jello Shots made with margarita mix and full of lime flavors.
  • If the salt or sugar doesn’t stick well with the lime juice on the rim, you can also use corn syrup to really ensure that your rim sticks.

This is such a yummy jello shot recipe, and they are the perfect fun treats for your next party. Jello shots are always a huge hit, and this Strawberry Margarita jello shots recipe is so festive.
