More Substitutions & Tips

  • You can customize this recipe completely- try using any soda you prefer- ginger ale, fruit punch, or any lemon-lime soda would all be delicious, you may just have to adjust the other ingredients you are using to get that fun red color. Don’t hesitate to toss in a little food coloring to get the blood-red color you are looking for.
  • If you like sherbet in your punch, try a lime sherbet or orange sherbet. The effect of the ice hand won’t be as noticeable, but it will make for a yummy punch, for sure.
  • You can add any spooky season toppings or additions to this punch- think gummy worms, candy eyeballs, and more. You could also swap the orange slices we used for slices of blood oranges.
  • Don’t have a punch bowl? Any large bowl will do, even a trifle bowl would work perfectly, or any large pitcher you have available. You won’t be able to do the ice hand in a pitcher, unfortunately.
  • For the alcoholic version of this punch- feel free to substitute any liquor you prefer. Clear liquors work best, but you can make just about anything work in this red punch.
