Frozen Pineapple Margarita

Summer is in full swing and today I’m sharing the perfect Summer drink- a Frozen Pineapple Margarita! This margarita can be served in a glass, or in a cored pineapple like we did here for a really festive touch. Just because you aren’t on a tropical island doesn’t mean you can’t have the ultimate tropical drink. Here’s how to make these.

Also, if you prefer yours on the rocks, here’s our regular pineapple margarita!

Frozen Pineapple Margarita

First, gather your ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need-

  • 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 3 oz. tequila
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • For rimming glasses if you choose to use those- 1/4 cup coarse salt
  • Fresh pineapple chunks, maraschino cherries, and lime slices for garnish
  • If you are making your drink cups from a fresh pineapple, 2 pineapples, with the tops cut off and cored.

These ingredients make two drinks. You might find these supplies come in handy.

To make these, combine frozen pineapple, ice, lime juice, tequila, and triple sec in a blender and blend until smooth. If it is too thick, add equal parts lime juice and triple sec to the consistency you prefer. My favorite blenders for cocktails are the Ninja Blenders. In my opinion, nothing gives you a smoother cocktail or smoothie.

If using traditional glasses, pour the kosher salt onto a small saucer. Take a lime wedge and rim the edge of your glasses with lime juice, then dip into kosher salt. I love these stemless wine glasses for making just about any cocktail in.

Pour your pineapple margarita and then garnish with fresh pineapple chunks, lime wedges, lime slices, etc… Enjoy!
