Coconut Mojito Recipe
I’m so excited to share our Coconut Mojito Recipe. Not long ago we shared these delicious Blackberry Mojitos, and I’ve honestly been a little obsessed with making Mojitos this Summer, they’re one of our favorite cocktails! I love the combination of fresh fruit and rum, and this version has our favorite cream of coconut that we just love in our Pina Coladas. That’s a recipe for another day, first let’s make Coconut Mojitos!
Coconut Mojito Ingredients
Here’s the full list of what you need to make a Bacardi Coconut Mojito.
- 6 mint leaves
- 1 tsp. Brown sugar
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1 oz. white rum (Bacardi)
- 1 oz. coconut rum (Malibu)
- 1 oz. cream of coconut (we used Coco Real, Coco Lopez is great, too)
- Club Soda
- Ice
- Fresh mint, plus lime wedges or wheels, or lime zest, for garnish
I love the simplicity of a Mojito. It doesn’t use outrageous flavors or complicated ingredients, a simple recipe, but it makes such an amazing cocktail.
How to Make a Coconut Mojito
1. To your cocktail shaker, add fresh mint leaves, brown sugar, and lime juice.
2. Use a cocktail muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to muddle to release the mint oils.
3. Add a handful of ice cubes, white rum, coconut rum, and cream of coconut.
4. Give the cup a good shake until well combined and chilled.
5. Strain into your cocktail glass (for Mojitos we use a tall glass or a highball glass), and top off with a splash of club soda.
6. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and lime wheels or wedges. Enjoy!
This is a creamy coconut mojito recipe, such an easy cocktail with a little carbonation to go with it, plus the lime flavors. Yum!

Coconut Mojito Recipe FAQs
Can I use coconut cream or coconut milk?
You CAN, but the cream of coconut adds a nice bit of sweetness to this cocktail that coconut cream and coconut milk just can’t provide. If you don’t mind missing the sweetness, feel free. Or, you could use one of these and also add a bit of simple syrup for extra sweetness as well.
What does a virgin mojito contain?
Everything, minus the alcohol. You can easily omit the alcohol in this drink for a virgin mocktail version.
Can I use coconut rum?
Yes! We made this mojito recipe with white rum, but coconut rum would be delicious, too! You could use Malibu coconut rum, Bacardi coconut rum, or Parrot Bay coconut rum!
