This Purple People Eater cocktail is the perfect Halloween drink. The bright purple color is so much fun, and will be a huge hit at your Halloween party. It takes a few ingredients, but if you measure carefully you get a festive purple drink for the Halloween season. We rimmed the cocktail glass with purple sugar, too, for a fun effect.

Purple People Eater Cocktail Ingredients:

  • Purple sanding sugar, plus a lime wedge for the rim of the glass
  • 1 ½ ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce blue curacao
  • 1 ounce sweet and sour mix
  • 1 ounce cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce grenadine syrup
  • 1 ½ cups ice

To get the perfect purple hue, make sure these measurements are exact!

Directions:

Step 1: To rim the glass, add a shallow layer of the purple sugar and a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass, and dip it into the sugar.

Step 2: In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, blue curacao, sweet and sour mix, cranberry juice, grenadine, and ice. Shake well to combine and chill.

Step 3: Pour into the prepared glass.

Tips & Tricks

  • Make sure your measurements are precise, if anything is off, you’ll lose out on the fun purple color of this drink.
  • The only thing you can substitute is the liquor- you could use another clear liquor if you wanted to, such as white rum or tequila.
  • For the best cocktail ice, get yourself a nugget ice maker. I have one on my wish list!
  • You could add a gummy eyeball, as well, for another spooky effect.
  • As long as you keep the ratios the same, you can absolutely multiply your ingredients to make a large batch of this drink. It would make for a fun party punch in a punch bowl with lots of gummy eyeballs.
