Pumpkin Syrup Ingredients
- 8 oz. pumpkin puree
- 1 cup water
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¼ tsp. Pumpkin pie spice
Pumpkin Syrup Directions
1. In a medium sauce pan, combine pumpkin puree, water, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice.
2. Heat over medium heat until warm and steamy, and sugar is dissolved.
3. Store any leftover in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Like we mentioned you can use this syrup for cocktails, coffee, over vanilla ice cream, and more!

Equipment Needed
We kept this recipe really simple, and even omitted breaking out the cocktail shaker. You absolutely can, though if you want to. Really all you need is your cocktail glass- we used a stemless wine glass, and a rocks glass would work great, too. Then, a spoon, or if you feel fancy, a cocktail spoon is really all you need.
Pumpkin Whiskey Cocktail Directions
Step 1: To rim your glass, pour corn syrup onto a shallow saucer. On a separate saucer, pour brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir just a bit.
Step 2: Dip the rim of the glass into the corn syrup, followed by the brown sugar and cinnamon.

Step 3: Fill the glass with ice, then add whiskey, followed by pumpkin syrup, and Sprite. Enjoy!

Note: We kept things simple with this recipe, but if you prefer you can add the whiskey and pumpkin syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice to combine and chill, then pour over ice and add Sprite last. You won’t want to shake the Sprite in the cocktail shaker since it is carbonated.

Why we love this recipe-
- It is such an easy recipe, packed with fall flavor. It is perfect for that time of year.
- We love that this pumpkin spice cocktail is served over ice because sometimes it stays pretty warm here for the first part of Fall.
- This drink really reminds us of a pumpkin spice old fashioned, an old-fashioned with a fun fall twist but we like the bit of carbonation that the Sprite adds, and it also helps to mellow out the pumpkin syrup just a bit in this whisky cocktail. It is perfect for any pumpkin lover.
