Moscato Margaritas
These Moscato Margaritas are delicious and so much fun! We combined a delicious frozen Strawberry Margarita with sweet Moscato wine to create this delicious cocktail. If you love a fruity drink this is right up your alley. You can also make a big batch of these margaritas, they are always a crowd pleaser.

Here’s why we love this recipe-
- Moscato is a sweet white wine that adds that touch of sweetness to the margarita without simple syrup. We do include an optional tsp. of sugar in the recipe, though, in case you like your cocktails sweeter.
- This is an easy recipe but such a fun variation on our favorite margarita cocktail. It is the perfect drink for a hot Summer day.
- It is a refreshing drink with simple ingredients, and the fruity flavor of the Moscato goes perfectly with a strawberry margarita.
Moscato Margarita Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries
- 2 oz. blanco or silver tequila
- 1 oz. triple sec or other orange liqueur
- 1 oz. lime juice
- 1 tsp. Sugar, optional for more sweetness
- 2 oz. Moscato wine
- 1 cup ice
- Margarita salt
- Fresh fruit- a lime wedge or wheel, or strawberries for garnish
- Optional: Mini moscato bottle to invert in the margarita.

Directions:
Step 1: Blend the Margaritas
To your blender, add strawberries, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, sugar, ice, and Moscato.

Blend until smooth.
Step 2: Prep the Margarita Glasses
To rim glasses, pour a bit of coarse ground salt into a small dish, or use a container of margarita salt. Run a wedge of lime around the rim of the glasses and dip them into margarita salt.
Step 3: Pour the Margaritas
Divide mixture between two margarita glasses and garnish with fresh lime and strawberries.

If desired, invert a mini bottle of Moscato for a fun presentation. This step is totally optional- you’ll still have the Moscato flavor from what we included in the cocktail without it, but it sure is neat!
How to invert the Moscato bottle
You’ll use the miniature 187 ml bottles, and it works best in a shallow glass like a margarita glass. Otherwise, your drink will probably overflow, and I found that the smaller coupe glasses didn’t hold these bottles as well, either. A classic margarita glass works best. Once you’ve poured your margarita into the glass (leave a bit of room at the top for the displaced margarita once you put the Moscato bottle in), open your Moscato, remove the bottle cap, and quickly place the Moscato bottle upside down into your drink.

How to make a big batch of Moscato Margaritas
Use 5 or 6 cups of fresh strawberries, chopped, 1 cup tequila, 1/2 cup triple sec, 1/2 cup lime juice, 2 cups of ice, and 1 cup of Moscato. This big batch serves 8.
Substitutions & Tips:
- You could also do this with any flavor margarita, and any flavor Moscato wine!
- Not feeling the sweet wine cocktail? Use a dry white wine instead for another interesting flavor combination. Sauvignon Blanc is a dryer wine that still has a bit of sweetness if you prefer a middle ground approach.
- Peach Moscato would also be a delicious choice with our Frozen Peach Margaritas.
- If you don’t have triple sec on hand, a splash of orange juice is delicious, as well.

You don’t have to wait for happy hour to enjoy these delicious margaritas. They are perfect for a bridal shower, brunch, or Girls’ night, and really makes the perfect fun Summer cocktail for any occasion. For a printable version of this recipe, see the recipe card below.
