Our Cherry Vodka Sour recipe is a delicious Summer cocktail, or you can enjoy one any time, if you love this drink. It has sour mix, vodka, and grenadine! It is a super easy cocktail to make, and perfect if you are a big cherry cocktail fan. This is a fun fruity take on the classic vodka sour.

What is in a Cherry Vodka Sour?

This Cherry Vodka Sour recipe is made with super simple ingredients- we used a combination of sour mix, vodka, and grenadine syrup!

What is sour mix?

Sour mix is a combination of sugar, water, and lemon and lime juice.

Cherry Vodka Sour Cocktail Ingredients:

2 ounces sour mix
2 ounces vodka (you can use regular vodka or one with cherry flavor)
1 ounce grenadine (you can find grenadine or sour mix/sweet and sour mix at grocery stores, local liquor stores, or on Amazon)
Ice to fill the glass
Fresh orange slice for garnish
Maraschino cherries for garnish

Is cherry vodka a thing?

Absolutely! Smirnoff may be the most common, if you have trouble finding it, our ABC board here in Alabama has a handy app where you can search for different alcohol and see where to buy it near you. Of course, you can do like we did and just use regular vodka. You can even make your own homemade cherry vodka recipe.

Directions:

Step 1; Fill a tall cocktail glass, or a rocks glass, with ice cubes.

Step 2: Add sour mix and vodka.

Step 3: Gently pour grenadine near the side of the glass.

Step 4: Garnish with a fresh orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

Step 5: Stir just before enjoying.

We love this tangy cocktail, the sweetness of the grenadine and the bright taste of the citrus juices in the tart sour mix. It’s the perfect choice for your next party or to just make at home and enjoy.

Substitutions & Tips:

You can use a store bought sour mix or make your own homemade sour mix.
Add a splash of orange juice or triple sec to make this drink even smoother.
If you prefer a bubbly cocktail, you can add a splash of ginger ale, club soda, or lemon lime soda.
Make a big batch of these by multiplying the recipe for a backyard barbecue or other Summer party.
We stirred this easy cocktail for a fun ombre effect, but you can absolutely mix it up in your cocktail shaker and give it a good shake.

Can I substitute cherry juice for grenadine?

Yes! You can absolutely swap out the grenadine for cherry juice for even more true cherry flavor in your drink. Most grenadine is a combination or cherry and pomegranate flavors.
