This Gingerbread Cookie Cocktail is so cute, delicious, and perfect for the holiday season. It is one of our favorite holiday cocktail options this time of year. It is full of delicious gingerbread flavor, and the Kahlua and half and half make this creamy cocktail delicious.

Gingerbread Cookie Cocktail

Whip a few of these up for your holiday parties this year, or just because- it is the perfect holiday drink for cuddling up and watching Christmas movies!

Gingerbread Cocktail Recipe:

Ingredients-

  • 1-2 oz gingerbread simple syrup
  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 2 oz. half and half
  • ½ oz coffee liqueur (Kahlua)
  • Ice
  • Gingerbread or other Christmas themed sprinkles
  • Vanilla frosting

Directions-

Step 1: Add 2-3 tbsp. of sprinkles to a shallow saucer. Use a butter knife to add a thin layer of frosting to the rim of your glass, about ¼ inch thick. Dip the frosting rim into the sprinkles.

Step 2: Fill your glass halfway with ice.

Step 3: Add 1 oz. vodka, 2 oz. half and half, ½ oz. Kahlua, and finish with 1-2 oz. gingerbread simple syrup.

Step 4: Give the drink a gentle stir.

Enjoy!

How to Make Homemade Gingerbread Syrup-

Gingerbread Simple Syrup Ingredients-

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. Molasses
  • 1 tsp. Ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon

Directions-

In a medium sauce pan, add water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, whisking together until it becomes steamy and sugar dissolves. Add molasses, ground ginger, and cinnamon. Continue whisking 2-3 minutes more until ingredients are combined and everything is dissolved together. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

We just love the ginger and molasses flavors in this syrup. It is also great added to coffee, a festive cocktail, or other delicious holiday treats.

Tips:

  • Want to make sure your cocktail doesn’t get watered down? Skip the ice, kind of…. Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, and shake well to combine. Strain the drink into your cocktail glass, without the ice.
  • You can use any vodka flavor you love. Some great options would be vanilla vodka, cake vodka, or whipped cream vodka.
  • Make this drink in a chilled martini glass for an even more fun and delicious Gingerbread Martini recipe.
  • You could also pop little gingerbread men cookies onto the side of your glass for a super fun garnish.
  • Want to skip the frosting and sprinkles? This drink would be delicious with a cinnamon sugar rim!
  • You could also top this drink with whipped cream and a sprinkling of gingerbread cookie crumbs.
